BALTIC LIBRARY & ARCHIVE is a unique free resource for the study of contemporary art and design which can be accessed both in the building and via the internet.

LIBRARY: The Library contains an expanding collection of books, DVDs, videos and periodicals. The Library has a relaxed study area with internet access and is an ideal place to explore the wider world of contemporary art. The library is open seven days a week in gallery hours with no appointment necessary.

ARCHIVE: The Archive contains a wealth of information about past, present and future BALTIC projects including press cuttings, publicity and images. Pre-booking is required for access to Archive, please ask at Information Desk for availability or call 0191 478 1810 or email archive@balticmill.com.


ONLINE: For those unable to visit the building, BALTIC has an online archive, accessible from any computer, which contains images, videos and information about our programme. Click here to use the online archive

DOCUMENTARY FILMS:

BALTIC Library & Archive produces documentary films and podcasts about most exhibitions. These can be viewed online or downloaded at archive.balticmill.com. There are also a number of documentaries on DVD format available free of charge to schools, colleges, universities, community and youth groups.
